The following weekend Avery and I met up with some of her classmates to stop by the 41st annual Steel City Beer and Cider Festival at the nearby Kelham Island Museum. (Note: Sheffield used to be a huge steel manufacturer and most of it was produced in Kelham Island). There was even a live band (of the brass and horns variety) that played the Jurassic Park theme song. Weird, but awesome.

We spent one night in Congleton, before doing a long flight of locks. We were lucky with these as lots of boats were coming in the opposite direction, which meant we were able to pass one between each lock and find the next lock ready to drive into. To round off the day yesterday, I was just putting the hatch covers down when I heard the distinctive sound of the coal boat coming. I looked out and sure enough I could see it coming towards us. I told Bryan and he came out and hailed the boat which pulled up alongside us and we bought 135 litres of diesel. The last time we topped up our fuel was when going into Alvechurch Marina in the middle of April.
