No matter what you do in Colorado, do
not skip Rocky Mountain National Park! On the drive across the Trail
Ridge Road we crossed the Fall River Pass @ 11796 ft., stopping at
the crowded Alpine Center as we crossed the Continental Divide for
the last time of this trip. This is one of America's most visited
parks with some three million visitors each ...
... concert in the auditorium at 1:15 pm so we walked over and joined a large crowd for an hour long concert played on various types of dulcimers. It was excellent. We also discovered that they have live music in the town square every Saturday night and people from all over join in the jam session. Folk music is alive and well in this area and most people participate in some way. We could have stayed a week and not seen everything.
Then on the way out of town ...
... up, we were able to run some air in the RV.
A relaxing afternoon so far and then we're planning to stand on the side and watch the show again tonight so that John can take notes. It's been so much better to have the opportunity to actually watch the show we're promoting for the next six months (duh, I know) even if it did cost an arm and a leg to get out here. We've met some really lovely people on the show so far and we'll definitely miss the camaraderie when we leave on Saturday.
... water. We also see bats and experience "total darkness". After the cave tour we do a little hiking in the surrounding park. We see waterfalls, snakes and lizzards. Sometime along the journey I lose my glasses, but seeing these sights is worth it. Check out the pictures.
