finally located full strength beer!

... br>
We had a delicious meal at Cafe Vero in a sunny courtyard (yes it had struggled to wake up but was creeping through the clouds) and then headed via the supermarket to our campsite, Bomstad Baden, on Lake Vanern. This is a very large site, with about 500 pitches and many of them either taken by permanent vans or by happy campers. It has a pretty large beach on the lake.

And bless little Jasper was a little grumplicious today (thanks Ada for that fab word ...

Captivating countryside

... although I am not sure if this was the original intent of the old Swedish rock carver dudes or this is just done to make it look all the more spectacular. Funnily though the colour used is the same "Swedish Ochre" colour that is used to paint all rural buildings (houses, barns, etc). There was even a 40ft shipping container in Fiskebacksil that was disguised with wood panelling and corrigated iron roof that was painted in this Swedish Ochre to make it blend in.

The rock ...

Sweden Yah!

... lie down, and come on command) for tolerating the chaos. Good luck with the new feeding schedule and banging on the table.

To wrap up our stay in Sweden, we decided it would be easier to get to the airport from Stockholm which gave us an excuse to visit. We took a bus into town, and had about half a day to see everything. We walked through Gamla Stan, which is the ‘old town.’ It is almost all pedestrian traffic and cute shops ...

Two nights in Karlstad

... for a second time. boring now! The highlight of the night was actually talking to the Swedish guy who sat next to me at the concert, we had a good chat about the history and whatnot of the Karlstad/Kristinehamn area and similarities between Norway-Sweden relations and NZ-Aus relations. I was jealous that he lived in Sweden. Back to Norway now. In truth I'm not exactly thrilled about this, but I think getting out of the cities will be a good idea so this is my intention! cheers, -mike

Smile You're in Sweden!

... away on Friday - boring I know. Its really great here, everyone is happy and Swedish, unlike the grumps in Norway. There are cycle paths everywhere and it seems like everyone rides a bike even old people. I have visited some older areas with cobbled streets and cycled (I have hired a bike) out to a rune stone in a farmers field, which is just like a memorial thing that is ...

... to see, you can always find someplace new because the world is huge. As I said i've had the luck to see very many places in my life and i'm still just 19 years old. This year i've been to Dublin, Liverpool and London during spring. And the summer started off quite good as well as I went to Austria and Innsbruck with a friend and saw the Euro 2008, where we ...

The start of an adventure

19 minutes past midnight and we are leaving Karlstad by a bus that is taking us to Örebro, where we'll change to another bus that will take us to Stockholm Skavsta Airport in Nyköping. In about 17 hours we'll hopefully be in Innsbruck in some pub or fan-area where we can view the game between Sweden and Spain.

Leaving the island

We have been living on an island for almost a month now. Today we woke up to 4C and thought that the time had come to leave. We still don't know if we are selling our hose in Florida NEXT week or not. I think realtors (real estate agents) are the tru evil on earth! How much pure **** can come out of ones mouth and still nothing happens?

Karlstad - Home of Bicycle Lanes and Quaint Houses

... was too strenuous. Sara learned that those little mushrooms in the Smurf cartoons are not just a figment of some animators imagination, but these mushrooms actually exist! Fabulous. They will kill you if you eat them but they are the coolest looking things in the forest. We were able to eat the wild blueberries and lingonberries, though. Once we reached the lakeshore we roasted some hot dogs over a firepit. Once we ...
