She spoke of unmeasured strength and deciding to carry on when faced with adversity. ... the little historian in me! I'm on the 26th floor of the hotel and the view is incredible! My colleagues are here and attending the conference too, not entirely sure I will want to leave them and carry on with my adventure come Saturday, I'm really on my own then! Woo Hoo!!!! I have received my first scholarship: International Education Fee Scholarship to study abroad. I cannot believe it, I am so excited and surprised that I won!!!!!!!!

First night "roughing it" in the tent was fairly comfortable. Roughing it is not quite accurate, since we have a big ole air mattress and soft sheets and pillows from home. But there is quite a bit of stooping involved. Breakfast at the campsite and then off towards Arlington, TX.
Lunch in Tyler, TX where the biggest eye-opener was that you could get an hour of parking for 25 ...
