Breaking Ice with a Northern Legend
Started off early and was thankful there wasn't a lot of snow on the highway. Saw a fair amount of road kill leading up to the ferry crossing at Providence. Was dusk out but managed to make out the sillouettes of several bison hunkered down in the snow along side the highway. Man oh man, was happy they were resting and not wandering...would have been tough to see em.
Hit the ferry but it was across the river so had a small wait. ...

After our very interesting drive from Watson Lake to Fort Nelson, the next bit to Dawson Creek was a bit like the Canadian version of the Karoo! ... many pot holes!
When arriving, we planned on doing laundry. They had several washers and dryers, but would not exchange our US currency for Canadian. This put us into town, after banking hours to get coins. Laundry time took 5 hours for 4 loads!
