We also stopped at Gwillim Lake. Very nice there. All the scenery today was great. Then we headed to Dawson Creek and ended up in Beaverlodge Municipal campground for the night.

... quite a booming town due to oil and gas. Evidently there are some good paying jobs and people are flocking here. They have everything including Walmart, Costco, Home Depot and every other fast food chain that we are familiar with. People comes from as far away as Northwest Territory to do their shopping here. Less taxes in Alberta. We stocked up on a few groceries, gas, propane, etc. while we were here also.

... as the gravel road we were going to take was 114 miles long and we had already burned half a tank. We can only get around 200 miles per tank and it would have been pushing it to just take the right and go. We were also hoping to get beer since we want to stay in free camping for a while on this road (no towns), but at $45 a case for Budweiser, we said “No!”.
