      Jeff entering this one !

Today we went to Oldeboorn, Friesland to see where my dad was born and grew up. My Tante Etty had cleverly set us up with an Oldeboorn old-timer who is somewhat of the local historian. He took us around the town, including the 'gemeentenhuis' - the town hall where my dad's birth was registered; and the former 'pastorie' ( parsonage) where dad and his 3 sisters were born. The first ...

... and if it was a residential home or a factory/ warehouse. Many also had the coat of arms along with various statues which adorning the houses. So many of the original buildings are on a forward lean over the street which meant when they were transporting furniture etc by using a pulley and rope system on the outside of the building nothing was damaged. It also gave the impression that the buildings were bigger than they were. Amsterdam is a really beautiful ...
