    Bikes are everywhere in Amsterdam. Bikes are the main source of travel. There are even bike roads (highways) with road markings for the bikes. There are millions of bikes here.

    We visited a university, and the dorms for students are Sea Containers. They are not secured, but all rooms have their own facilities. The containers can be moved if the land should become needed for something else.

    Today we went to Oldeboorn, Friesland to see where my dad was born and grew up. My Tante Etty had cleverly set us up with an Oldeboorn old-timer who is somewhat of the local historian. He took us around the town, including the 'gemeentenhuis' - the town hall where my dad's birth was registered; and the former 'pastorie' ( parsonage) where dad and his 3 sisters were born.     ... and fun atmosphere. We spent quite some time sitting here tonight just enjoying the people watching, atmosphere and beers .... Ahh Gezellig! We did go for a bit of a wander later in the night and finished with a night cap at a bar in Dam Square with the palace as our view.     ... I don't think they even bothered retracting the landing gear haha. I had do the old wearing 5 jumpers trick to get my bag under weight, except this time it was hot which sucked a bit.
