      ... brown, plowed, ready for planting. The small villages are generally pretty prosperous, especially as you get closer to Dijon. They seem to be partly bedroom communities for people who work in Dijon, though some have a larger worker and farming population than others. Most have at least a boulangerie-patisserie (bakery), and every third one or so has a pharmacy and a La Poste, maybe every 4th or 5th a supermarket.
