We Made It!   We have come full circle around the USA. Check out the Map. We are now returned back to our starting point at Ananda Village in the Sierra foothills, near Nevada City, CA.  Am happy to say that CharLi, aka "the beast" checked out fine during its maintenance checkout and "mani-pedi" time in Rocklin.  Good for another 5,000 miles although its drivers are happy to be on one place for a while. Here are the final ...

Mario Cano, a Guide with the California Department of Parks working at the State Capitol Museum, is a master storyteller, weaving personal anecdotes with straight-out facts about the construction of the capitol, or how a bill becomes a law. I joined his tour, along with eager kids and parents, a few grandparents too. Mario coalesced us as a group by asking where we’re from, and why we ...

We regained our footing on the 49 in the town of Cool and then headed north to hit our last stop on the 49. the city of Auburn.

While I was planning the route for this road trip I had a discussion with a co-worker of mine that had grown up in Northern California and told me about a great little swimming spot that he had fond memories of while his Dad took him on road trips along the 49. The middle and north forks of the American river meet ...
