... to be! Jora, our Chinese teacher and Culture Class co-ordinator, sent an email some days beforehand, outlining the schedule. It was to be an all-day affair, and I would have my Chinese class the next day (all in Hangzhou), so Ms Liang said I could stay in her Hangzhou flat overnight, which I had been to a few weeks ago during the National Holiday.

There seemed to be a slight sense of urgency (via WeChat - it's like WhatsApp) as to getting at Wulin Sq metro station in ...

... that meal in Hangzhou, there were 2 other families present. We also were in a private room which had 2 large tables -- 1 for all the men and a couple of the wives, the other for all the other wives/children/elderly people and me! Even though these meals are for the men to drink, smoke and chat together, everyone else will wait for them to continue getting drunk until 1 of the men will call it a night. Luckily, these nights are never late -- ...

... a distance from Hangzhou, so he has his 6 hours of Chinese in 1 day too, not split over 2 days like the au pairs living in HZ. So he has also been having his lessons by himself. He goes back to Germany in 2 weeks time, which is a shame for me, as I will go back to having lessons by myself, but I was really glad to have met him and to have had such an entertaining day. We got the bus together after ...
