Our next stop was Bodie, California. This is a deserted ghost town which reached its heyday in the 1880s, succumbed to a fire in the early 1900s, and was completely evacuated by the 1930s. Apparently Bodie was famous for being a party town, and was a hot spot for drinking, bar fights, prostitution, murder, y'know, all that ...

... had to work a little. The truck performed perfectly. This diesel can pull hard without as much as working up a sweat and the integrated exhaust brake and trailer brake controller working in tandem is really fantastic. There is no jerking when the brakes are applied, the engine just purrs at 1400 rpm @ 60 miles per hour and rather than averaging 7.5-8.0 mpg the truck averaged over 13 mpg- 62% increase in mileage-Sweeet!

... br> As we left Salt Lake City under sunny skies, we drove along the Great Salt Lake. We did not go in to take a close look, but snapped a few pictures as we drove by. In the same area, we stopped at a travel plaza that was a setting in the movie Dumb and Dumber . Then a little farther up the road we tried to see the Benson Grist Mill built in 1854. The mill sits in a restored area that was not yet opened for ...

    ... see Rick and Deb
again so it was sad to wave them goodbye.

We stayed at New Frontier RV Park, 2
hours from Reno. It has a small casino attached and a work camp for
men, not sure what they are doing but I guess since it's Nevada it
would be mining. The rec area was the best so far. Good seating, 3

... warm bright areas with no snow, foggy patches with some snow and areas completely covered in snow with massive ***** frost. The frost was really impressive, it made the trees and landscape look beautiful. From Twin Falls Idaho we took the 93 south into Nevada to Wells then we got on the interstate 80 West to Winnemucca Nevada where we stayed for the night. We arrived about 6pm and did about 1200kms today. We then went to the Mc Donald's to find a place to stay ...
