There was finally a hot spot in the Rio Grande Valley last
night and it was at the Rio Grande Valley Live Stock Show. It was in the main
rodeo building and it was 2 young country artists, Jerrod Niemann and Chris
Young. Man what a show these two guys put on, along with their own hits they
played Johnny Cash, Doug Kershaw and Z Z Top believe me there was not a dull

... working well at the library anyway, so I’m glad we didn’t. Neither of us slept well the night before so it was nice to relax a little bit, catch up on some chores around the house, and prepare for the show.
Emilie came to visit in the afternoon and we hung out until we realized that more time had passed than we thought (it was 4pm when she left), so we scrambled to get the props reset and ticket boxes set up at the front gates in time. ...
... is always a win in my book because they, ahem, have a lot more to dump than we do. Also worth noting: RIGHT next to the dump station was a flourishing grapefruit tree. You couldn't pay me enough to eat any fruit off of that, but it was still pretty cool to see.
The trip to Brownsville was really nice...being off the lot in general was really nice. We stopped at a random Chinese restaurant called Chopstix and ordered food. Sitting and eating ...
... interesting; we’ve had a number of people telling us at the gate that they’ve been coming to Kelly Miller Circus for years and they’ve gone to other circuses in the past, but in the end, they choose to keep coming back to us. One woman said it’s because of the exotic animals we have and another family said our prices and friendly staff set us apart. We are the only circus in the valley with performing tigers and that gets a lot ...
... hung out with Emilie for a bit and then went over to reset props. But it wasn’t meant to be…John felt something on his ankle so we walked back outside to discover both of his shoes were crawling with ants. There was a giant ant hill right next to where we were storing all of his props. We quickly moved the props out of the way and I was able to borrow ant killer from the show to take care of that area.
The shows were a lot of fun ...
