... everywhere for boots for Tracey ahead of the snow they say is coming. Very excited about prospect of snow after the disappointing lack of it in Zurich. On Sunday we took afternoon tea at the Plaza hotel in the Palm Court which was great. Cocktails, sandwiches, cake and scones with cream - what is not to like? The hotel is very grand, on the Park but it does not look like it did in Home Alone ...

... and it is a special marathon edition, so I buy one, and it has some amazing photos of the race and my name and time is in there. They stop printing times after the 5 hour mark so I only just made it in. We finally make it to the end of the line and I get my medal engraved, and get to have a shop for a finishers t-shirt, but they have nearly sold out of everything, I manage to find a unisex hoodie and I'm pretty happy with that. By now ...

... Presbyterian Church is deliberately pitched at the thinking New Yorker. It is apologetically Presbyterian in its order and liturgy; very traditional in its expression and incredibly effective in reaching its targeted audience. In a congregation of over 1,000, in one of the three campuses, Anne and I were, can you believe it, the oldest in attendance. Yes, 1,000 mostly under 40 year olds on the weekend of the New York Marathon and the visit of the Dalai Lama. ...
