Sequoia National Park

... cloud of mist that travels across the sea into the road. We could really see it when we stopped off and climbed some of the rocks along Big Sur - that was ace.

Paul

We rode the famous Highway 1 today. Beautiful. The Big Sur section is incredible. We are coming to the end of our big drives...I'm really going to miss it.

The part of Fresno we are staying in is eerily quiet...almost like a zombie movie build up...

Fresno

This is a bit out of date (4 and a half years ago) so I'm just going by memory here. Also unfortunately I don't have my pictures from my time studying abroad so between the lack of imagery and the ravages of time (and other things) on my memory the entries on this particular travelogue will necessarily be somewhat less than detailed. Nevertheless I feel that I should leave some record that I actually made it to these places so here we are. A bit of background about ...

Apples To Apples

... to California a year ago! He's just hiking and snowboarding a ton. And his girlfriend is a gem. So we got Chinese, and then went to a couple cd stores. They only leave the mountains (they both work at a national park) every couple of weeks, so when they do, they've got errands to run. But it was great to just spend time with him. Then I drove ...

Playing catch up! Monument Valley - Yosemite

... tyres if not put on prop**ly, we didn't want to take the risk. We drove back feeling pretty depressed and stopped on the way to have our packed lunch in our car ov**looking a lake. We had the first rain show** of our trip which felt a bit like kicking a man when they're down, but we counted ourselves lucky that we'd lasted four weeks without a single drop. We really didn't like Fresno that much so we moved on quickly and travelled an hour or so north to M**ced. We didn't really ...

But, even if you don’t want to carve your name into the walls, Alpine Pizza is still worth visiting.

The majestic pine covered hills around Flagstaff soon gave way to the high desert. As we pulled into Kingman, I suggested to Dianne that we should go into Laughlin just so that we could say we’d been to Nevada. So, Dianne pulled off of I-40 and onto I ...

On The Road Again

... vacation, we knew we wouldn't be going to Europe because we had been there for our honeymoon. Instead, my wife (Dianne) wanted to go to Boston. She had been to Boston a few years ago and had very fond memories of that visit. I mentioned going to Reading, Pennsylvania to see my friend, and former travel partner, Tom Marihart. Once I mentioned visiting Tom, she wanted to add a trip to visit a friend in Binghamton, New York. So, we planned a trip that would allow us to both visit ...
