Tuesday, our first day with Rob, we rode through Tamarindo and down the unpaved road to Playa Langosta to the south. Along the way, we stopped at the business owned by Rob’s wife. She sells all manner of beach supplies and arranges adventure tours and fishing trips for visitors. She and Rob have a five year old son who started school the day we arrived.

After a popped bicycle tire, a ride to the beautiful Playa Conshal, some local eats, our trip to the beach has come to an end.

Our last days we spent exploring conshal and even a private beach by our hotel that had black sand! In Costa Rica the beach area seems to be bipolar in terms of socio-economic status. We took to the water about an hour into the trip. Snorkeling we were able to see a variety of the sea creatures. There was even a small yellow fish who was following me around because of the yellow in my bathing suit.

... there were 2 of them, 500 meters apart) got really caught up on el Burro's title being labeled Reconstructed. They didn't know what it meant, other than what their dictionary told them (basically, piece of **** car), so they were on the verge of denying me entrance. I took them out to inspect el Burro, and within minutes they gave me the stamp of approval. Only 2hrs...can't complain too much. But I hope this isn't a continuing ...

Today I say goodbye to Playa Flamingo. My first experience speaking Spanish. My first experience swimming in the Pacific....last time I just went up to my knees. My first Spanish teachers. My first encounters with Costa Rican wildlife….
