    ... road. This area was fun to drive through because we were driving right through the cliffs or canyon areas. The town seemed very cute and touristy! We kept driving and finally found Fort Steele Resort. We have great views of the Rockies and the property is right next to an ostrich and horse farm! Ostriches are so scary looking! It is very serene here all tucked in the mountains with ranches surrounding us! We are America bound tomorrow! Been great ...

    ... and drove me to the hill at 9. It really is stunning, I am finding it hard to get my head around the fact its not a Christmas card. Oh and its cold. Quite cold. Like a high of 0 degrees.. Thank god for thermals and gloves.

    ... live in such a spectacular province. We arrived in Fernie around 3 pm and took the opportunity to use the pool, the outdoor hot tub and take a long 2 hr walk around the Elk River and the town of Fernie.     Fernie

    We have been here a couple of days now and have settled into our apartment with Doug and Claire having their own retreats ( kid caves) as the layout is over a couple of levels.

    The view from balcony is stunning as we are facing the mountains and to the left and right we have views of the Canadian Rockies.

    The idea of have our own place to come back too each evening was appealing and it allows us to self cater
