          ... There've been spates of turtles (like, big, tyre sized turtles), gophers, raccoons, armadillos and now possums. And always burst tyres along the shoulder. Today, a hawk flew down beside me and caught something in the grass. He was very fast, because I could see it all happen clearly as I sped along at 80mph.

          This entry is only to keep my map current. We came across the eastern part of North Dakota, past Fargo and into Minnesota where we stayed at a great city park for the night. All grass and, with ************e there, peaceful.

          I went for a run in the morning and then we headed across Minnesota towards Duluth...past ALL those lakes in Minnesota! So many of them.

From there we backtracked to Garretson, SD where it's said that the Outlaw Jesse James ran from a posse chasing him after robbing a bank in Minnesota and jumped Devil's Gulch (20 ft wide).
