... who built the town of Fairbanks on the banks of the Chena River in the very heart of the vast Alaskan wilderness. Even though the cast was polished and professional, we found the music and skits to be trite and, sad to say, boring. We couldn't wait until the show ended.

We boarded the bus, provided by our campground, to return to Riverview RV Park, and even though many of us in the back of the bus chanted "DQ, DQ, DQ," the driver ignored us.

... We stopped at a meat processing place at Delta Junction. We sampled buffalo, reindeer, yak and elk. We got buffalo burger and had it for dinner. Yummy! Here we are, home again, all safe and sound! All of our flights were on schedule except our final one from Anchorage to Fairbanks. It was delayed for about one-hour due to weather and mechanical problems. We were finally placed onto a different flight, and soon discovered that we were riding on the bright blue Disney plane. Another rainy day for our Gold Mine Excursion. We decided to go anyway hoping the weather would clear a litlle bit. We arrived at the El-Dorado Gold Mine around 930am. ... The weather is also iffy at this time of year with snow not unexpected from the Brooks Range on north. There is a danger of flash floods and running water may wash out the culverts and bridges. The highway is apparently nowherer near the excellent standard of the Liard Highway.
