    ... the Pacific Ocean where we hiked down and along a pebble beach. I got to see some pretty blue clam shells that was strikingly shining and colorful. We also had a seal pop up a few times to say hello which was sweet! To conclude the evening while we were cooking a huge herd of elk came down to the beach near us!     ... Julie with the matching necklace to the bracelet as a surprise and commemoration of a 40th birthday celebrated overseas with the family - a wonderful surprise.

    We took a tram down to Fisherman's wharf and Pier 39 to see the seals, with all the crowds, and experienced pretzels and churro's from the sidewalk vendor that the giant seagull tried to take from Charlotte's hand!

    ... of his book. Bizarre to see someone who had lived through it, now being treated like a rock star. Of course, we brought a book and got him to sign it! Caught the ferry back across to the mainland - still very hot. We wandered down to the famous Pier 39 area, where Ginny and I got the renowned Clam Chowder in a Sourdough Bowl for lunch. Delicious.
