Friday was the start of the reunion activities. 25 classmates and spouses from the Class of '63 gathered at the home of Forrest and Jacque Behrens for a day of dining and lots of conversation and stories of the days of old and present. Back in 1961-62 Jayne and Jens met at Zion-Benton Township High School in Zion, IL, USA. Jens was a foreign exchange student from Denmark. We had several classes together and became friends. Jayne visited Jens and his parents in 1965 in Copenhagen, but we then lost contact for the next 48 years. Jens travelled extensively in the US in the summer of 2013, and we met briefly in June. ...

... the herbs off the flying bridge to keep them from freezing. We don't mind because it makes the enclosed bridge smell heavenly. We are kicking back right now with the wind howling, the boat rocking and the water slapping. It feels nice and cozy. While it was too windy to travel today we are determined to leave tomorrow and find warmer climates. Our goal is to lock down both Wheeler Dam and then Wilson Dam and spend the night on Pickwick Lake. Hopefully it will be smooth cruising.

... The first few miles of Wheeler Lake were breath taking, with high bluffs and good color on the fall foliage. Early on, we passed this particularly stunning wall called Painted Bluff due to its brown and yellow rock. It was about 350 feet high and one of the highest bluffs on the entire river system.
