    ... the pace was really good. I like every place that we traveled to. Each was different. The architecture and art of Portugal and Spain are beautiful. Calatrava, Gehry and Gaudi!!! All different and fabulous. The food was too good! The Atlantic, Mediterranean and beautiful rivers - plazas, museums, route of Saint James - the history, people and cultures - made this trip an excellent one!     ... trip at least a dozen times to my childhood home on long island. In the 70's the smell of rubber was so strong as you passed through Akron, Ohio. Today all the manufacturing (and many of the jobs) are gone. Passing Goodyear World HQ reminded me of those days almost 40 years ago.

    I moved in on the 19th to 254 Main Street and began unpacking with Aunt Mary and Mom, mom just had surgery so mostly she just sat. The first night I ate with Sammy and Kayla at their place on main street,the little one bedroom above the dentists office. We had feta wheat and veggie pasta then magic bars champagne and walked to the beach to enjoy the sunset together.

    20th - The next day mom and i did intense shopping at BJS and Target to get drinks, decorations, ...

    It was pouring when we left. Good thing Herb and Marsha suggested that we have Danny pick us up at 7:45 instead of 8:15. Once we got the the Knopps, to pick them up Danny took back streets and the Expressway was moving again as it was after 9. Our flights were good and we arrived in Spokane, retrieved our luggage and picked up our rental vehicle (an 11 passenger van - we needed the space for luggage and camera equipment).
