    May 10 Mother's Day. 😊. A Beautiful Day. Founded in my home state of West Virginia in Grafton. Who would have ever imagined it would become such a celebrated day. Today was a full day... I love to travel early in the morning while the truckers are pulled off the road to sleep. I wanted to pick up postcards from each of the states I travel through...well about the only place to buy postcards is Walmart...travel Centers no longer carry them... Guess ...

    ... land for rice farming, raising cattle and in the early 1900's, the discovery of oil. This helped the town of Iowa to thrive during the depression. Today, cattle ranching, farming and the oil industry all continue to be a vital part of the towń. No matter where we travel, there is always a story. That's mine, and I'm sticking to it.

    Yesterday we traveled from Mississippi and across Louisiana almost to Texas -- it was a fairly long drive, but Sassy and Odie were good travelers. In fact, they spent (as always) the whole time driving in their carriers -- we open them up, but they just stay inside and look out at us. Oh well . . . . . ...

    Wednesday feb 18 the weather was warmer. We packed up and headed to Oak Alley Plantation (1200 acres) about an hour west of New Orleans. We arrived around 10:30. We did a guided tour of the home first then explored some of the grounds and perused the outbuildings that would have been slave quarters. Then we had lunch at the restaurant there before heading on our way. We drive as far as Vinton LA and arrive there around 6:00pm. Had homemade chili for ...
