          • Although inspired by the four firefighters that died in the line of duty while fighting a warehouse fire in Seattle's Chinatown International District on January 5th, 1995, the Fallen Firefighter's Memorial is a respectful tribute to all thirty-one firefighters that have died in the line of duty since the department began in 1889.

          Fukuoka - Day 16

A travel blog entry by timtamm on Oct 07, 2014

I woke up at sunrise and saw a lovely sight as I looked out the window. I managed to get a photo of the sunrise, and we had breakfast as we watched our sail into the port of Fukuoka. It appears we are very lucky with the weather as well, partly cloudy but sunny, no rain for a change. We were all docked and ready to leave the ship by 8am but John and I waited until 9am to get off. We headed down to the shuttle bus which ...

I've been bloody slack on diary keeping, but here's a rough overview of San Francisco.
Everyone was a bit flat due to Steph and Matts break up and of course especially Steph, she was having a real rough one. But we hired bikes to see the sites, we rode to the Golden Gate Bridge and half way across. It was super windy and cold so got some photos and peddled away quick. We went down to the busy Fishermans Wharf and Pier 39. Plenty touro's ...

To Repay the favour I went and got whiskey shots and also some jaeger bombs (and Jacob a coke) as I owed the lads a drink, and this guy Roman offered to buy the drinks. Having a $50 round sat on the bar I happily agreed. To begin with I thought he was buying it because I ...

... salmon for entrée, yum yum.

Overcast and gloomy again, in fact maybe cooler than yesterday and the weather taking longer for the cloud to lift. We all went for drive. Did a loop from here, travelled south and crossed over to Bainbridge Island, headed north and then caught car ferry to Seattle, then back to Dash Point State park.

It was cloudy all day and some what chilly, well for summer ...
