    We left Amarillo, Texas this morning heading to Calumet, Oklahoma on I-40 outside of Oklahoma City. As we headed east on I-40 in the Panhandle Plains of Texas, the land was very flat and we finally saw big Texan cattle ranches. East of Amarillo we could see huge ponds in the low-lying areas of many ranches from the previous Texas storms. We took a quick stop onto Historic 66 in the town of McLean to take a photo of an historic Phillips 66 gas station.

    ... all nationalities leaving the school today and how much has changed in 57 years. We were very taken back by the experience.

    On a lighter note, later into our drive we began noticing white feathers floating in the air for miles and miles on the interstate...the next 18-wheeler we passed was a Tyson truck filled with live chickens on their final ride...RIP...Chic-Fil-A anyone?
