Day 17 8 hrs, 5.5 kms I reach Liberia after dark, but feel quite at ease here--even stopping for a delicious fruit smoothie on my way to town. It's a larger town, but still has that laid back vaquero feel--with a colonial twist. A couple of the streets have well preserved colonial houses with beautiful plant displays at the doorways. ...

... for a physical exam and deworming. We had a super sweet chihuahua and then a nervous, but cute mixed breed dog. Overall, the clinic ran pretty smoothly and our group performed over 30 surgeries! It was great to see so many people that wanted better for their animals. They truly appreciate what we do and even applaud when we arrive. It is such a rewarding experience and I love the atmosphere! After a ridiculously long day, we finally got back to our hotel at ...

All of a sudden a blue blur appeared. It was Dylan running towards me. He stops and asks if I've seen David. He told me a man ...

... to go to the hot springs. Six of us shared a cab there and spent another several hours relaxing in a river the temperature of a hot tub. Overall this was one of the best days so far! The next day was spent zip lining in the rain (wet but still fun) and at the other less natural hot springs. It was Cheri's (one of the women on our tour) fiftieth birthday so we had a little celebration for her with cake and balloons. ...

So this morning we went to the reception to sort out our booking....she did have us checked in for the next 6 days thankfully and we were honest and said about arriving a day early so she have us a discount and we paid the first night! To our surprise we were upgraded to an ocean view room....Dougie had previously sent an e-mail saying he was planning to propose suggesting an upgrade...but they said it would ...
