Snow!

Saturday:
Well, I had very little sleep last night due to my GMT time. I was tired and could have slept at 9pm (6am GMT), but I waited up for Maren to come in from work, as I thought it would be rude if she is putting me up and I am in bed when she gets home on my first night. So I ended up passing my tired stage and couldn't sleep till about midnight. Then I was wide awake by 5am.
Anyway, this morning it started snowing and within a few minutes it turned into a snow blizzard. They ...

"How many times was he deported?"

... as he walked off obviously not wanting to read further. As for me I just sat there all embarrassed as I could guess what he was reading about.
The lady asked one of the other guys what she should do. He told her that this was only a formality and it was obviously their decision. (I really wished they were talking to me so I could explain that I had been here for Uni since and also three vacations with no problems). Then all the guys left her to get on with it.
Finally the ...

Mexico on My Mind

... in Canada in October. And I doubt my brother would choose turkey over a Corona on the beach.

The first time I ever left this country was a visit to Tijuana, Mexico, which is just across the border in Baja California. I remember kids begging for money, kids trying to sell things for money and bartering with people on the street for random souvenirs. The second time we went to Mexico we drove through Arizona down to San Carlos, Sonora. I was ...

The Utah Complex

... able to relate to most people in Utah. 3. Basically feeling lost. 4. Finding most guys in Utah to be unattractive and boring.

I'm moving to Taiwan in less than two months. I'm worried about Taiwan, because I'm moving there with a big group of people from Utah. Hmm. Will this break my curse? Will this defeat my theory of the Utah complex? I guess we'll see!

Seeing the Same Place in Different Way

... there was more and more snow, mixed with the greens, yellows, reds and oranges of the leaves.

This time most of the trees were barren, leaves were mostly on the ground and there wasn't any snow. This time I realized how I didn't even see the cabins people live in, some pretty parts of the creek, the little waterfalls, bridges and other beautiful things. <br ...

W is for Whoa Wyoming

... the world. It was great, all Buffalo bill stuff and I had a salmon that was so meaty at first try i thought it was a pork chop!

Vanessa was checking for a campground in the park and found only one that has the RV hookups we've grown accustom to. They take our reservation but insist that all campers be hard-sided, meaning no pop ups or canvas of any kind. We got registered without any one noticing, then we headed to the ...

Hittin' it down the road

Nothing exciting, no longer tourists, just Intersate travelers. Crossed great salt flats, home of the Bonneville Speed . Stopped at Salt Lake City H-D for dots, clothes and a wind breaker. I have lots of excess wind from under the windshield, hope it helps. Sleeping early, need to make Nebraska tomorrow. May not post tomorrow as pictures get boring. Bye.

On the Way Home

... my last plane flight and about four hours before I'm finally home. Odd thing: I don't smell as bad as I know I did when I went to France. Now I do smell. I'm certain of that; in 2 more hours I will have been wearing these same clothes for a full day. But it's cooler here than it was in France. Thank you people of Utah! While you may not be the socialist paradise that France is, you do believe in blessed air conditioning. Hallelujah!

The Motherland

... A bit windy up there but quite nice. The best part of snowshoeing is not the scenery, or the idea of making fresh tracks through the deep powder. It is most definitely running down the steep side of the mountain while trying to keep your feet moving fast enough that you don't face plant into 3 feet of snow. Were we successful? Mmm kind of... It was a lot of fun and I still feel sore. Now what could possibly ...

WYOMING...at last!!!!!!!!

... Oh well, that just added to the charm. By this point, everywhere you look it's apparent you're really in the west...and I'm lovin it!! We get gas, go to Burger King, Flash eats Will's burger and we're on the road again. It was late and, unfortunately, not far into Wyoming it got too dark to take pictures. Flash was asleep...of course. I was asleep...of course. Will was chugging coffee and No-Doze trying to stay awake. He woke me several times and tried to get me to talk to him ...
