Our day starts at 10am for a short tour of Vancouver, the last stop was an elevator ride to the Vancouver Lookout a panoramic observation deck (similar to Sydney Centre Point Tower) with revolving restaurant. The weather was on our side again, we had unobstructed views of picture-perfect Vancouver, on a cloudy day – the clouds disappeared for …
Leaving mid morning, it was a really cold one, I'd say Fairbanks is heading into its winter for sure, however the sky was clear with the sun out shining.
Fairbanks to Anchorage, a truly unbelievable flight, especially being a commercial flight, the captain said he was early on the flight path and flew past Mt McKinley, he even went partly …

Travelled to Canada from Seattle by bus. It took about 3.5 hours including a small wait at the boarder for our bus to be processed (so much easier and quicker than flying). Have spent the last two days looking around Vancouver. Did a hop on hop off bus tour of the city that took about 2 hours (if you didn't hop off). Also have been up the Vancouver …
Today was our last day in Vancouver. We checked out of our hotel and headed to my aunt's (Bev's mom) house for lunch. Most of my family would be there. Plus, the bride and groom were slated to arrive and open up their wedding gifts. Man, I have one big and loud family similar to the movie, My Big Fat Greek Wedding. It was lots of fun though. It was …

Great value for Vancouver!
We stayed here for one night and, although the area is kind of scary, the hotel itself is very nice and a great value for the city. The staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to help us. The free shuttle dropped us off on Robson street, and from there it was only a 15-20 minute walk back to the hotel. We made it back safely without any incidents. I will definately stay there again. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
Location kinda scary, but hotel is nice
The hotel was comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub, spacious bedroom and bath, and laundry facilities. However, we ended up eating in the adjacent restaurant both nights because the area was a bit too sketchy for us to walk around in at night. The complimentary shuttle was booked on the day we arrived, but available the second day to take us to Stanley Park. The price was fairly resonable, but next time I might spend a bit more to be in a better area.
We stayed twice in this hotel overnighting on our way to and from Vancouver Island. Reading the reviews and the concerns about the area we were curious to see it ourselves. It is true, the lower end of Granville Street is somewhat seedy and slightly run down with many people hanging around that obviously have geater problems in life than worrying which hotel to choose. But this is reality in a big city and in this case it was never a security issue or annoying in any way. We enjoyed the location - walking distance to the shopping areas of Robson Street and Yaletown. The character of streets and neighbourhoods changes from one block to another - again, typical for big North American cities. The hotel itself was a nice and modern Best Western - nothing to complain about. The underground parking and internet came for free (but ask first whether there is internet in the room - some don't have connection).
My mother and I visited Vancouver for the first time July 21st - 23rd and were in shock upon arrival at the location of our first hotel. Originally, we were to stay in the Dominion Hotel in the Gastown area. Unfortunately, we did not know the area is where most of the drug addicts and homeless hangout. We made the decision to stay some place else.
My fiance and I recently stayed at this hotel for two nights and had a very good experience. We had no problems and we were happy with the way things went. The room we were in was nice and clean. The rest of the hotel was also clean and the workout room was very nice with lots of different things to workout on and there is also a great view of the city from the roof. The price is a little high but not too bad depending on where you get your reservations from. The only real downside to the hotel is it's location because it's in a neighborhood that attracts people of all different sorts but it is still very safe. We walked around the area at midnight and had no worries at all. We recommend this place to anyone who wants an above average hotel and doesn't mind paying a little bit more.
I stayed for three nights in March and was very pleased with the facility. The security was excellent, the workout facilities clean and generous, and the breakfast filling. The neighborhood wasn't the best - Granville Street has some rougher spots and some shops not appropriate for children - but it was convenient walking distance to most of the sites of the city I wanted to see.
March 5-7, 2004. We stayed at this hotel 3 nights and were very satisfied with our stay. The continental breakfast was a nice perk.
Excellent place to stay
We go to Canada three or four times a year and this is our favorite hotel to stay at. We love it! for our 15th wedding anniversary we stayed in the Penthouse suite. It was amazing. The staff has always been helpful, the parking is free, and the views are great. It is close to everything. We love it. The only negative thing to note is there is no restraunt on site.
Best Western Downtown
We were very pleased with our accomadations at this hotel. The location was great and the staff was always so friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean and the kitchenette was well stocked with toaster, tea kettle, coffee maker even a colander. The hotel also provided a shuttle into downtown and the staff gives good recommendations to sites and restaurants. The top floor with the fitness center provided a great view as did the hot tub room. Will stay there again should we return to visit Vancouver.
