    ... you can go from snow drifts to palm tree in less thana half day of driving. We drove over 1200 miles to get here, which means that we drove 1/20 the way around the world.
    Have no specific plans for the week, but I have already turned down water aerobics with my sister. Think a walk on the beach looking for spring breakesrs would be better. I will take Bev along to keep me out of trouble

    ... had difficulty finding an available space in the region, as there appears to be an "oil boom", with men arriving for work and moving into RV parks on a long-term basis. We were happy, though, with the lack of RV spaces in the area, as we were able to land in a secluded and shady setting--off the beaten path. Sometimes the best things happen without planning and plotting!

    ... was the Fiery Furnace and the Jeep tour; these two events were fun, educational and we would recommend that anyone traveling in Arches or Canyonlands make plans to do both if possible. We couldn’t decide which was first or second so we called it a tie for first.
