    As I arrived in Tucumcari I ate at Chick-fil-A for $5.95. Then I stopped for gas at a Shell for $42.12. I checked into my hotel and fell asleep fast so I could have a good amount of energy for going to the National Park tomorrow.

    ... from one of the Curator's at Panhandle Plains. She said they had this little place called 'Midpoint Cafe' which was the exact midpoint on Route 66 between Chicago and California. There wasn't much else in this town, and it looked a lot like the town before - half abandoned, half forgotten.
