      A great find

Flying in late and leaving early we wanted something simple and clean and convenient. This hotel was great. They offer shuttles from the airport to their hotel and the next morning took us to the local car rental location. The room was huge. I had to go back down and ask if they had upgraded us as it looked like a junior suite, but no, it was just their king room. There is a nice lap pool and fitness center. The breakfast in the morning was enough to get us going. The staff were all polite and helpful. The neighborhood was quiet and comfortable. We walked late at night to the nearby Domino's pizza and felt safe. I have no reservations in recommending this location.

Très grande chambre, très propre. Frigidaire et micro-onde. Internet sans-fil et surtout sans problème. À quelques kilomètres du métro pour aller en ville. Restaurant familiale à 2 pas.

      Getting started

Day 1 We took a later flight into Chicago so Russ could have one more day at work. We found out what being TSA pre-checked meant- it is a good thing.

The hotel has a shuttle, but we couldn't figure out where to catch it. Finally realized it was outside the airport via a tunnel to the bus and shuttle area. But it was okay as it took that …

... summer it is in full swing with all the exhibits, attractions and rides however as it was winter most things were closed so we just had a walk around and got some of the famous Garrett's popcorn. This popcorn sounds weird, even gross but it's not. It's a gqood combination that was originally only made in Chicago. It is a combination of caramel popcorn and cheese! Sounds bad but it was amazing!! After wandering around for a while past heaps of ...

An interval training workouts being active is a 30-60 second bout of cardio then weight training. Sumo squats together with your legs very wide apart, squats with legs placed together, ...

... never mix my drinks. Beer, gin, whiskey and rum really don't bode well for the next day. So we spent the day chilling out at the flat, plus our plans to go down to the lake went out the window as soon as we saw it was pouring with rain outside. Went to the cinema that night to see runner runner, but it's nothing to shout about. Slightly disappointing. Friday we went down to the navy pier by Lake Michigan and to the library to print our tickets for the basketball and walked back ...

... making the most of it - we saw boats sailing on the lake, bike riders, large groups of Segway tourists and picnickers. Sarah, Yvonne and I paid our friendly Whole Foods store a visit, purchasing a rotisserie chicken and salad ingredients for dinner - a bottle of wine seemed to make its way into one of the baskets as well. At about 7pm, Max and Sarah threaded the meat that had been marinating since Thursday onto skewers and set them into a low ...
