    A great find

Flying in late and leaving early we wanted something simple and clean and convenient. This hotel was great. They offer shuttles from the airport to their hotel and the next morning took us to the local car rental location. The room was huge. I had to go back down and ask if they had upgraded us as it looked like a junior suite, but no, it was just their king room. There is a nice lap pool and fitness center. The breakfast in the morning was enough to get us going. The staff were all polite and helpful. The neighborhood was quiet and comfortable. We walked late at night to the nearby Domino's pizza and felt safe. I have no reservations in recommending this location.

Très grande chambre, très propre. Frigidaire et micro-onde. Internet sans-fil et surtout sans problème. À quelques kilomètres du métro pour aller en ville. Restaurant familiale à 2 pas.

    Getting started

Day 1 We took a later flight into Chicago so Russ could have one more day at work. We found out what being TSA pre-checked meant- it is a good thing.

The hotel has a shuttle, but we couldn't figure out where to catch it. Finally realized it was outside the airport via a tunnel to the bus and shuttle area. But it was okay as it took that …

... would end up (life was good that way). This trip has been a completely different experience. I have 95% of the reservations made, calendar filled in, and I had to actually think about what I packed. For six people, we managed to get on the plane with only four suitcases and a carry on; I am hopeful I have what I wanted!

Several weeks ago we made plans with our Chicago family that, during our six hour layover, we would go to their house for brunch and a break at ...

... Even the Americans appeared to have different political views to me as they felt - the people that live in possibly the most developed country in the world - that they had a raw deal from politicians compared with the British, particularly in respect to the protection given to lower income individuals (there is effectively none in the USA). I had a conversation with an American from Arkansas with liberal views and ...

... been intently studying our travel guide to ensure we knew about all the must see places to see whilst in town. One experience i read about was riding the EL - brown line elevated train throughout the city. The train loops around the city between the canyons of office buildings on an elevated train platform. The train at times gets so close to some buildings and is so high from street level that you can literally see into conference rooms and offices of actual businesses. when I ...

... the Chicago Theatre Marquee Tour And trip advisor city guide's 'walking your of public outdoor art in the loop' I shopped the 'Magnificant Mile' And drank lots of coffee! I met people from all over the world, I partied until 4am. I went to bed early. And slept in. To be honest, I had so much fun, I forgot the reason I even booked this trip in the first place.
