In the afternoon, we did family, group, and adoptee photos in front of the standard set of stairs and couch in the lobby. The Reed's managed well for two of the three. ... to combat slavery in the ceded land. They abandoned the emphasis on the wrongdoing of slavery; rather, they focused on slavery being a threat to the Republicans and ordinary white farmers. On the contrary, Southerners settled on the hope that the free-soil movement would die out and slavery would be allowed. Conclusively, popular sovereignty again was the ruling decider in whether or not to allow or abolish slavery. ...
