We started the day in a very quiet way. Every morning when we get up there are deer in the yard and when we come home in the evenings they are there again. Saturday February 23, 2013 - walked from Turner, OR to Salem, OR. 6.55 miles - in 1 hour 37 minutes, 30 seconds. That time blows the 16 minute mile to HELL!! Whoo- Hooo!!! ... 450 walking miles, 5 walking trails or "Ways", countless towns, villages, castles, lochs, mountains, and adventures. I will be staying in hotels, hostels, campsites, and Bed and Breakfasts. I'll be eating local foods and enjoying local flavor of all types!

... A recap of the traveling time: Mombasa to Nairobi = 1 hour, 2 hours at airport. Nairobi to Amsterdam= 8 hours, 5 hour layover. Amsterdam to Atlanta= 9.5 hours, go through customs and passport check, run like hell to catch the next plane to PDX (about 1.5 hours). Atlanta to PDX= 5 hours, 1 hour gathering bags and catching the van to our car. 1 hour drive home. Making the total travel time of 34 hours. Oh, I’m tired all over again just thinking about it!
