We started the day in a very quiet way. Every morning when we get up there are deer in the yard and when we come home in the evenings they are there again. It is fun to watch, but by the time I get the camera out, they are gone. Breakfast and then the guys installed a radio antenna on the Jeep. Linda and I visit and look at old family pictures. Nice morning. Gene gets a facebook page from a friend (Sheila) ...
... because sometimes they act so nutty. I also think that is one of the things I love about cats.
Then there is the crazy male peacock, old blue, who sounds like a cat meowing to me. There is a large number of several breeds of goats. They are all quite adorable and the babies followed me everywhere, including through the gate. There are llamas, sheep, geese and also chickens, which the goats find interesting too.
... was a small table upstairs that we could squeeze into. Delicious food staved our hunger and we were out before we knew it. Dropped Scarlet off at her house, then Harv and I drove home the sun shining through ever darkening clouds.
All in all, a very successful day for training and fun. My training will continue through April until the Race for the Roses on April 14th; one month before I fly to Scotland for the real test...
... in Scotland, so steeled my nerve and continued up the long, dreary hill. And look at the weather today! Bright blue sky - I expected it to rain all day; those weather people don't know what they are talking about!
I must say, the jelly beans in my pocket and Kenny Loggins in my ear can probably be credited with getting me through the walk. A little burst of sugar and being 'Footloose' never hurt anyone...
... If you have read our previous blogs I know you already knew that. Ha). The ostrich was pretty good as were the ostrich meat balls….and no, it didn’t taste like chicken. The crocodile was chewy and okay. Neither Kathy or I liked the ox balls, but it was fun to try it.
After dinner (about 7:40 pm) we head back to the airport to get checked in for our late flight. After multiple passport checks and security checks we finally get boarded for our first leg home ...
