Historical Traveler Reviews of Best Western Creekside Inn Bishop

Wonderful Hotel

from Boudi
Stayed here for one night, and wish we could have stayed longer! Had a family room, which was a really good size for 2 adults 2 kids. Spotlessly clean, really nice decor. Staff on front desk were very friendly. We arrived late afternoon after a seven hour drive and were pleased to find a lovely pool and jacuzzi outside, they even provide fluffy white towels for guests to use. Bishop is really pretty and the people are very friendly. I would definately stay here again - great!

Spotlessly clean

from MaryLouiseO
We stayed here for one night en route to Yosemite and were not disappointed. The hotel and gardens were spotlessly clean and well cared for as was our large room overlooking the gardens and creek. Complimentary freshly baked cookies were served at 5pm.

The hotel overlooks a park where we watched a game of baseball and then the local band started to play attended by quite a large audience.

There is a good selection of restaurants nearby including an excellent chinese.

Overall an excellent hotel in a good location which we would recommend unreservedly.

Pleasant enough hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
My Wife and I stayed here whilst on vacation in California. It seemed like a decent place to stop off for the night on route to Yosemite from Death Valley / Vegas. I'd not stayed in a Best Western before and was not sure what to expect. We feared the worst when we arrived at Bishop (not much goes on here by the look of things) but were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The lobby is very attractive with lots of big, glossy photos of the local countryside and wild life. The hotel was very clean, modern with up to date decor and a nice cosy feel. The room was nicely decorated and my only complaint is that we were right next to a very noisy air conditioning unit. We were both so tired though that this was not a problem. The hotel does not have a restaurant so we had to venture into Bishop fairly late for some food. It appeared that my initial impressions of the town were miss-judged and we managed to find a good restaurant that was still open.

We left early after an OK breakfast with a warm feeling about the hotel. If you're in the area you could do a lot worse.

Excellent hotel

from HolidayOrganiser
This was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in and not at all expensive for British people. We had a beautiful room, in a lovely hotel building with charming staff and manager. Breakfast was very good and included in the price. The outdoor pool was lovely in very pretty surroundings. Bishop is an excellent town with many attractions and good restaurants. We would definitely stay there again.

Great stay during Mammoth ski trip

from Avivale
We stayed two nights at this Best Western and each morning we drove the 40 miles to Mammoth to ski. Other guests we met at the hotel were skiiers too. Anyway-- I thought the place was great. Nothing fancy, but comfortably midscale. The lobby was attractive with a fireplace and cozy chairs. Our room was large, clean, quiet, and nicely decorated. Unfortunately, our balcony "view" overlooked the parking lot. Speaking of which, the parking areas wrap around the periphery of the hotel. With many doors into the building, we were able to park right by our room so only had a short distance to carry all our stuff. The complimentary breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious-- a filling and healthy breakfast before hitting the slopes. I definitely recommend this hotel!

Great stay!

from CA4Travelers
Our family of four stayed @ the Creekside in November; it was our second stay there on our way to other destinations and we don't bother reserving anywhere else in Bishop. It is equally comfortable in summer and winter. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and tastefully appointed--two separate sink vanity areas (with all of the extras you'd find at an upscale hotel), a desk w/ internet access, a table with plush upholstered chairs, small outdoor balcony, and the beds---well, they were provided with extra padding and were to die for. This hotel is quiet and the staff is accommodating. Breakfast is included and is substantial with numerous choices, and for those traveling some distance and needing to wash clothing, you'll find a complimentary washer and dryer available on the premises. Before the dinner hour, the hotel was serving complimentary chili + tea and coffee --a treat on a cold day. The lobby also has a large comfortable seating area with a fireplace. Request an upstairs room facing the creek.

Pleasant but overpriced

from BobHarvey
pleasant motel with oldfashioned decor. internet access dial-up but free. overpriced for what it is.

Reasonable accomodation and friendly staff

from A TripAdvisor Member
This was a great stopping point en route from Yosemite to Las Vegas, although Bishop is a fairly uninspiring services town if you're a tourist.

The motel was clean and the rooms were a decent size. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only complaint is that there was far too much chlorine in the hot-tub the night we stayed - but these things happen.

Worth considering at the price.

An oasis!

from A TripAdvisor Member
En route from LA to Yosemite, we spent a night at the Creekside Inn before tackling the Tioga Pass.

What a treat - an oasis in the desert. Our room had a balcony with a view of the creek & pool - worth paying the extra $10. Breakfast was included in the reasonable price of $109 + tax (shop around for deals).

Also recommended was the Firehouse Grill - just a short walk away where we had excellent food & wine for a good price.
