Our lodging tonight is in Dodge City, Kansas. It is where Wyatt Erp tamed a portion of the Wild West. The time period is preserved in the Boot Hill area, with wooden sidewalks and western building structures. TV's "Gunsmoke" series was based on a Dodge City, and there is even a Gunsmoke Road in downtown. Something I find humorous is that the Kansas Teachers' Hall of Fame is in the same building as the Gunslingers Wax Museum!
... so we made tracks to a highly rated Vietnamese restaurant - Saigon Bistro. The food was good, plentiful, and reasonably priced.
Tomorrow we will depart for Wichita, KS and McConnell AFB. We have reservations for the base FamCamp, which is nothing to write home about, but it's convenient for our "hoped" for departure on Monday. Say a few prayers for us over the weekend that the flight will have space on it for us....and everyone else who wants to go to England.
... found that she made it for the 23rd and today they were sold out, the gal said there were alot of Oil people in town.....The gal back in Garden City said that the motels/hotels have been pretty much sold out these last couple of weeks.....I guess its all about the Oil in Kansas....
We found a nice Italian Restaurant Bella Italia Ristorante, it was delicious....We hardly have had a bad meal yet......just one that I can remember the chowder was ...
... vest and cowboy boots, he was so skinny so when he was stood with the police man it was quite a contrast. We got our grub, stuffed our faces and set off again. This isnt gonna be the most exciting of blogs as todays purpuse was to put in some miles. We travelled about 250 miles today.
