We detoured off I 70 through the High Plains south to Dodge. Still high winds and temp of 37C! Since we were driving straight into the wind, it was a much easier ride. A couple of things about Kansas before I talk about Dodge City. Kansas is a very large state! Also, it has flies - at least every time we had our picnic lunch they appeared - even in the wind! In several cities, the more prosperous car dealerships had roofs over the ...

Breezer has told me horror stories and now I can no longer sleep at night. Day 3 of 9 day stretch complete!! Go USA ...

... of my first thoughts and impressions. I shall do another tomorrow night as a round up and overall summary. Been to Boot Hill Museum Today where you see a replica western style street dating back to the 1870's, the replica street is not on the original site due to it burning down several times and brick houses eventually being built in the late 1880's. Learnt about the buffalo, indians and their movement onto ...

... from Alaska. It stands out in memory because Wendell managed to "somehow" back into a light standard while we were playing tourist. Envision it: no cars anywhere near us and he backs straight out into the pole. He wasn't happy about it and neither was his bumper. It wasn't the first mishap on his new truck. At a previous stop, he forgot to let the tailgate down before pulling away, ouch! This trip hasn't been without its mishaps either. There's a new crease along the ...
