We decided to stay in Dodge City on our way to Ft Collins Colorado. After a very poor choice in Springfield, Mo. we made a more careful choice for our hotel in Dodge City. ... for several miles, mainly I guess due to the lack of big trees. It sure wasn't from lack of food as there was still plenty of armadillo shaped roadkill about. Once we got well out of Wichita we passed through a couple of small towns, including Kingman. Every road that led off the main highway we were following was just a straight, red, dirt track which seemed to lead to nowhere even though there were often signposts at the end of them.
