... the weather but it looked like it once was a fishing destination which went sour. Our saving grace was there was plenty of room so we cooked up a storm and went to work on the bikes. The bikes constantly need maintenance, truing spokes/wheels, tightening bolts which rattle loose over time, checking tire pressure etc. The rain died off and I was good to go. Matty wasn't so keen about the head wind and said he wanted to hang. The next town was 30 miles away and I ...
Rexburg, Idaho, United States jeydoublesyou... for about an hour while firetrucks and sheriffs arrived to clean it up.
On the road again, orange cones were placed with a sign to watch for stock. There they were - buffalo on the hillside, on the road and down by the lake. Charlie watched in amazement as one passed our parked car. He didn't even growl a warning!
Arrived in Cody Wy at 6:30. What a lovely town. Can't wait to go to the Buffalo Bill Museum in the morning.
... laptop and camera is time consuming.
Have to admit I kinda hit a wall yesterday. Felt like the full moon and little gremlins were at work to discourage me from continuing. Tonight it will be early to bed with my book 'cause tomorrow we are off toward West Yellowstone. Sorry no photos - can't get new camera to download them. Drat.
... by buying some good ole fried chicken for supper. We took a picture of a Budwieser Sign just for George and Eunice today since he was kind of under the weather and knew that this would give him a chuckle. He drove a Budwieser delivery truck for a while and tried to help the company as much as he could by consuming a bit himself just to help the company of course. Will try to bring home a bushel of Idaho potatoes from here. Your friends Les and Diane
Idaho Falls, Idaho, United States schroederd... of Idaho. Many parts of Idaho reminded us of the Ottawa Valley. In Idaho Falls we met an old friend of mine from high school, Carolyn Salmon. She was working so we toured around the city ourselves visiting the falls and the beautiful area around the LDS Temple. We had supper and a lovely visit with Carolyn and her husband and camped outside their home for the night
Idaho Falls, Idaho, United States rosemarys... These protect the building and occupants from severe earthquakes. The building had lots of beautiful murals and sculptures. Afterwards we did the guided tour of The Church of the Later Day Saints and the history of the Mormons.
It's a lovely clean City and we’re glad we visited. We then drove to Idaho Falls and put our trailer tent up in the dark again!!
... fridge (the only thing I didn't get to before we left Mammoth), and Jim fixed the top of the front door where the air was whistling in as we drove. That made QUITE a racket but it's much better now.
I should back up a bit... Since our last entry, we made it to Pocatello, Idaho and again camped out in a Walmart parking lot. I think Walmart may be ...
... unprecedented, oscillating between frozen, snow covered lakes, vast plains of tundra, pine forests as far as the eye can see, canyons and rapids, waterfalls, and hot geysers and springs. Again, Buffalo were pretty much everywhere and, sadly, were becoming two a penny which really discredits the amazing beasts - we were being completely spoiled. In addition to Buffalo, elk and bears inhabit the park but in this respect we left ...
Idaho Falls, Idaho, United States pjarowi1... out and I had no idea if I could still ride a horse with my back and knee the way they were, however I couldn't let this opportunity slip away without giving it a try. I'm so glad I did! I learned I can still ride a horse and it actually felt pretty good on the back (I'm thinking that's what pain medication is for too) My legs were pretty sore but I wasn't going to fess up to it. I had a great time.
This was a frustrating morning. Got started late. Got the rental car all turned in, jumped in the plane and poof - A DEAD BATTERY! We jump started the plane and it turn out that the alternator failed somewhere between Grand Canyon and Arches Nation Park. Not realizing this I ran the battery down. But planes are designed to run without requiring a battery so we charged it up and took off for Rexburg. After starting the plane, I turned off the master ...
