We headed north from Crater of Diamonds after reluctantly saying goodbye to my sister and brother-in-law. We chose a back road through the Ouachita Mountains. We wanted to get to know Arkansas better. These mountains are called structurally complex, geologically speaking, but we don't see that much, because they are covered in Oak, Beech, Sweet Gum and Loblolly Pine.
