... the museum. Fort Smith is on the Arkansas River which is quite wide with islands in the middle, much more impressive than the Mississippi in St. Louis. I followed the river 80 miles east and am camping at Old Post Road Army Corps campground just below the Dardanelle lock and dam. This campground is full as Lake Dardanelle (on the other side of the dam) is a most popular tourist recreation area. This campground is amazing -- right above the river, even a roof over my picnic ...

Any day that ends with a cold beer and a campfire while watching the skies darken and the fireflies emerge is, by definition, a good day. We are back on the road headed to our campsite west of Little Rock, Arkansas. Still in Texas now and going through some crazy rain storms. Of course in Texas we have seen the biggest rain drops yet on this trip. We are 200 miles out of Oklahoma City and as of now there are no tornadoes on the radar. Today will be another nine hour drive and we ...

We get to State Park by 4pm just before the thunder storms start rolling in. It was very quiet in the camp. We where the only ones there, it felt erie. Since it was a cold, wet night we decide its the perfect time to hide away and watch a movie.

The next day Gordon wakes up with a slight head cold. Since it is still cold and raining on and off we decide its a good to do nothing day.
