We drove about 3 hours back to where we just were to see the Mitrione's when they returned from the Jersey shore. They are Mike's Godparents. What an incredibly fun couple they are. All in all a rather terrible day that took me a while to recover from. But now the following night as I write this and I have my bag back, life is looking up ...

... to fight for theirs. The next day was my last day in Philadelphia and I wanted to see Benjamin Franklin's printing press. After seeing the demonstration of how they made newspapers and broadsheets, I had time for a nice relaxing cup of coffee and to do a sudoku (or two!) under a lovely shaded gazebo. Half way through my coffee I hear this m************ and the next thing I know, I have this tree branch, as thick as my arm, 10 cm away from my head! ...

... themselves upon while taking in all the wonderful architecture around them. Within the confines of the yard, the inner walls of City Hall was almost as miraculous as the outside. Six or seven stories of windows and columns and small statues surrounded us from all directions, looking down upon us sternly. A giant compass of gold, white, and black was paint on the floor. I had read that there once was a bronze compass sitting upon the grounds ...
