... state. This museum wasn't state memorabilia it was just Early and Brownwood. It's crazy.
From there I hitched a ride with David Jnr over to lunch. He is 16 and is into baseball. So at the moment American schools (in Texas anyways) are on summer break. They commenced this break at the end of May and won't return to school until the end of August. About 3 months just a bit over. During this time if you are on a sporting team at the school being: basketball, track, ...
... as it can possibly be. Most of the schools funding to build these specialist rooms and to pay for specialists such as coaches comes from community funding.
In the afternoon, we went to the Old County Jail and Museum which was opened especially for us as it in normally closed on a Monday. We were given a guided tour and learnt about the history of the area and saw lots of artefacts from the past. For the rest of ...
It's a Texas tradition! You have to eat at "Waterburger"! Yummy breakfast of pancakes, taquitos, honey chicken biscuits, and chocolate milk. Mmmmmmmmm We stopped for ice and lo and behold....Dublin Dr Peppers! In honor of my sister, Kathy, we bought one for everybody. We decided to avoid Dallas on our way back to California from Austin. Once the sun set I knew we should start looking for a place to stay but each little town we came to on that back road had nothing to offer. What a relief to hit Comanche and see the Best Western. Clean. Cushy. Quiet. Free breakfast. Fast Internet and a laundry facility.
