Rolla to Broken Arrow (Tulsa) - 345 miles

Our day started with a visit to the Totem Pole Trading Post, literally next door to our motel. This is the only business in Rolla still trading since the 1930s. As the route had been realigned several times over the decades, the shop had been moved too. The old boy running the shop gave us a …

Sunday, May 3, 2009 -- Hello From Rolla, MO, Route 66!

Well, we had thought we might make it all the way to Joplin, MO today (Sunday), but despite getting an early start (6:30am) under sunny, bright skies in Chicago, we pulled in 15 hours later into Rolla, southwest of St. Louis and about 75 miles northeast of Springfield, MO. We've also …

Would really like to see the park in a couple of weeks; the forest would be ...

Proper motel with rooms accessed directly from the car park. Handy for Route 66 as it sits directly on the route. Comfortable compact rooms and helpful staff when we stayed.
