Proper motel with rooms accessed directly from the car park. Handy for Route 66 as it sits directly on the route. Comfortable compact rooms and helpful staff when we stayed.

... for a train ride lunch. After a thoroughly entertaining evening, where we just could not take our silly grins off our faces for completing our exciting eventful day, we made for the motel after saying goodbye to the band leaving after their sesh, and a must have photo-shoot with the band of the night, on all our phones - please give it up for The Jam Masters. When we went to settle up for our drinks, Johnny just waved his hand & said it was on the house. ...

6:30 am start hopefully to beat the wind and any storms coming through later. Glad to see the last of Oklahoma. Stopped in Rolla, MO. So far we've missed the rain. Rain came right after we got settled in our room. Lucky for us We seemed calmer tonight. We picked up some dinner, watched some TV. We seem to be able to not think about it every minute and had a pretty nice evening. One place. We know we'll be home tomorrow. That ...

... the level tilted slightly, then we felt a clunk, then it evened out, this was repeated a number of times before the capsule started a smooth ascent upwards. At the top when we exited the capsule, we climbed the stairs to the sky deck. This area was jam-packed with people. Each side of the deck had small viewing windows of you to look out at the panoramic view. We looked out both sides and took our photos, then got in line and returned to solid ground. ...

... the wildlife and she said lots of deer, wild turkey and armadillos and was surprised I hadn't seen any this morning. There is a ton of bird life: bluebirds, cardinals, robins, woodpeckers and geese. Nice and quiet here so you can here all the bird call. Would really like to see the park in a couple of weeks; the forest would be ...

... it's flat, windy and no green -- pretty much what you'd expect from a prairie in April. So far Missouri has been warmer, more landscape to enjoy including colours. We pulled into the Onondaga Caves State Park and pretty much had our choice of camp sites; not too many souls out and about right now. Folks so far have been incredibly friendly, although that seems to be a common trait in the States. We did not go to the ...
