Proper motel with rooms accessed directly from the car park. Handy for Route 66 as it sits directly on the route. Comfortable compact rooms and helpful staff when we stayed.

... had been waiting in hone dark on the side of the road for almost three hours! Not too impressed however, we are safe. We get towed to a hotel in Cuba where we unload Bumblebee and I am feeling very sad and sore for her. A new day dawns and we decide to get the bike moved to Honda of the Ozarks in Springfield who come highly recommended and as well, they are CSC dealers so they will know what they are doing with the trike. Springfield is a good two hour drive away but, thankfully, ...

One nice thing about only having to drive for around 5 hours a day is that you have time to do what you want and not rush doing it :)

When we arrived last night, we read that Cuba was famous for the many murals painted on buildings around town and decided to walk/drive around to see them all before Day 2 on highway. Very informative and fun. Very cute small town. So glad we spent time here!

When researching places to see along Historic Route 66 I read about the Historic Wagon Wheel Motel. Reviews were good and it had been recently updated so we were pleased when we called and they had a room. It is adorable, clean and comfortable. AND it is next door to Hicks BBQ. Perfect ending to a perfect first day!

... what my mumma taught me was the best of soul and it took me right back to my home roots and the appreciation of such a great genre. We applauded after they finished the song they were playing when we walked in, this was of course appreciated as they were only having their Sunday night jamming session. We asked if they were open, Johnny the owner explained he was closed, but had friends over to jam, tho usually their friends would be here to chill with the ...

6:30 am start hopefully to beat the wind and any storms coming through later. Glad to see the last of Oklahoma. Stopped in Rolla, MO. So far we've missed the rain. Rain came right after we got settled in our room. Lucky for us We seemed calmer tonight. We picked up some dinner, watched some TV. We seem to be able to not think about it every minute and had a pretty nice evening. One place. We know we'll be home tomorrow. That ...
