    ... be rehabilitated? The early cells were only about four feet wide with a single bed. Hardly room to turn around in. These cells were updated later and became larger and a bit more humane. Kingston Penitentiary closed in 2013 and the inmates were relocated to other institutions. I have no idea if the conditions there are now any better.

    Sept 6th

    We had a nice drive today going towards Kingston. The side trip through the Loyalists Parkway was scenic and slowed the pace of following the freeway. There is so much history in this area that we could spend weeks in each area trying to learn it all. We both feel our Canadian history from school is almost all forgotten. LOL

    We arrived in Kingston and did a quick tour of the town and booked a couple of tours. Tomorrow we'll do ...

    ... Cuyahoga Park. We drive down to the marina, walk out to a point in the river to watch the boats, then return to eat some light dinner outside, enjoying the fresh cool air then adjourn for the night in the comfort of our home. Time to relax. Driving as much as we have in the past 3 weeks has worn us down a little. But we want to see as much as we can and also want to get up to Canada for as long as possible before the weather turns. Our "forced march" ...

    We've been back and forth to Golden Lake Camp four times this year - for Frederick. Frederick went to camp twice this year (so there and back - twice each).

    We'll be back and forth to Golden Lake Camp again.. so total for this summer will be six times.. lol

    We're not complaining though.. Golden Lake Camp is a great camp.. offers lots of fun activities ...

    ... accomplishments in this area. It is a great place to take a little stroll.

    They used to have a little museum with an old ship in it. I noticed they tore down the building that housed the ship and now there are just stilts in the water. I wonder if they will ever bring back the ship.

    Once I finished my stroll, I met back up with Joanne in the parking lot and we brought the boat back home.

    The kids were happy that the boat is working ...
