... and see koalas and wombats and loads of other native animals. i then drove on to pebbly beach a beach that is actually sandy and has kangaroos hopping all around it, they r quite use to tourists and came to say hello and sit next to me. from here i drove onto to jervis beach where they have the worlds whitest sand and it was very white and the sea was quite warm not warm enough for swimming just paddling. i then drove to wollongong where i stayed for ...
Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia ctompkins11... which receives tailings/waste from a gold mine in the highlands. It is an amazingly interesting project and hopefully I should get to go up to the mine at least once a year to collect samples, starting this August. It is a three and a half year PhD, although I have a visa and funding for four years if I need it. Becky is doing really well and has two jobs; one in a restaurant and another in a ski/snowboard shop for the winter. She is looking into heading back to ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia tom-cresswell... into the kitchen... In true form I didn't get organized and forgot about the public holiday which meant I had no costume so I ended up going as wonder woman (after 5). The only other costume ******* than mine at my own going away was Steve's (admit it, yours was just as bad!) Sooo pretty much spent the night being a lunatic - beer bonging and doing other stupid ...
Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia caityjaned... This meant there was two options- either borrow one or go out and buy a new one. By a stroke of luck Dad's cousin Rob happened to have his 'skinny suit' which was Pete's size and Dad's uncle, Paul happened to be the same shoe size meaning that Pete could cobble together a decent looking outfit! Luckily the post arrived the following day and Pete was able to wear it to his interview. Fourth trip: Wollongong to Toongabbie Having driven up the coast Pete and I decided to ...
Wollongong, Australia annakins64... auditorally I'm very observant with Tone, Timbre and Volume. So anyway I was on this train, just having come from a spectacular free Seminar, where we did a lot of work on re routing the subconscious mind to areas in life in which we wanted to head, and there I am on this train chatting to a guy who is wildly intersted in things that I'm passionate about, he was also talking about how we are always communicating massive amounts of information that our conscious mind isn't aware of ...
Sydney, Australia sammmiles... my left bum cheek that I continually landed on during the 3rd lesson. A big thank you to Trent for being patient with us & being a really great teacher - even though I never fully stood upright!!! I think knee surfing is the way forward......... ; ) We also met up with more cousins on our first night ...
Wollongong, Australia lady-winnifredMy plan to kiteboard for a few days turned into just one day... since the wind didn't want to cooperate. So after driving into sydney on an errand, and realizing how crazy it is to drive in that city in a ****** van, plus not seeing any likely places to park it and sleep, I stayed just south of the city around Cronulla to do errands and prepare for the holidays. I had a severe backlog of laundry plus I had to get the Witness (my van) ready to ...
Cronulla, Australia g_shook... snakes and spiders. I feel quite luckly that this has been my only experience with these creaturse so far, lets hope it stays that way. Did you know that the sydney (yes, sydney!) funnel web spider is the most dangerous spider in teh world? apparently it's only the males that are leathal (oh goodie!), great! What the hell am I doing here again? I also found out that 90% of the reptiles found in Oz are not found anywhere else, that's quite a statistic! And Australia is home to ...
Sydney, Australia lisartw... we won't go into that!!) we stuffed ourselves silly because it all tasted so gorj. We had crackers and silly christmas hats and everything. I can't quite remember the worst cracker joke, which is a shame because I would put it up here. And, we didn't have to listen to the queen's speech at 3pm!! :) even better. Pressies were opened later in the afternoon, on the balcony, in the sun (hah!) and that's we spent the rest of the day, soaking ...
