    June 18, Day 71. La****n, Sask,.
One of the longest drives of the trip today…. at least 7 hours from near Portage la Prairie to La****n, Saskatchewan along the Yellowhead Hwy 16. We saw plenty of grass, brush and big, big sky and grass, brush and big, big sky, and grass, brush and big, big sky,
It was not unpleasant, but was a big slog. This is road building season in Manitoba, so we ran into at least 6 big patches where we had to stop for a few ...

... br> -Before I left on this journey, I was terrified to travel alone - especially across the world to third world countries. Well my friends, I have learned that travelling alone is AWESOME! On almost half my flights (not any of the 13 hour flights..booo...) I got at least an extra seat beside me - sometimes the entire row to myself! Also, travelling alone really forces you to open up and meet new people and Im so glad I did - this isnt an experience you get ...

It's another two game day, today. Depending on how our team does, they may choose to baik on the second game and just play tomorrow. There are only 4 teams so the second game today could be the same team they play tomorrow morning. For over 65 guys, two games in one day is a killer. And today's two games only have about an hour between the games so they don't even have time to change or dry their equipment. Yah! They won 4 ...

... space! The day was very sunny and hot, the competitors wearing wetsuits for the swim were roasting as they waited for their starts. However the weather is not set to last and rain is forecast, so I think it is going to be much cooler for Graham's event on Friday. We didn't do much else today we did find a proper supermarket near the train station before we came back to the city centre. No celebrity spotting ...

    Indoor Rollercoasters @ the WEM

... Bender, a scary, screeching, stomach-dropping coaster with three loop-the-loops, an inverted drop and very fast corners. We didn't enjoy this one nearly as much as California Screamin', mostly because it was smaller with tighter loops and a lot louder because it was indoor, but I enjoyed the experience. The Waterpark turned out to be way too expensive for the two hours we had left so we headed back 'home' to to Calgary.
