This scenic overlook on the ridge east of Vantage captures a panoramic view of the sculpture and the Columbia River Gorge. The last time I stopped here was in 2002 at the start of my motorcycle trip around the US. Another tourist, a young retired Navy, said they would fly A1s & F18s through the gorge during training missions about this time of ...

But I did manage to win two holes and make one birdie. On our way to our ...

... Leavenworth is built in the Bavarian style with lots of German style buildings, restaurants and of course BEER! We all ordered the same meal, Schnitzel Cordon Bleu with spaetzle. They got a pitcher of Oktoberfest beer and I got a Shofferhofer which is beer with grapefruit juice, sounds disgusting but tastes great. The Schnitzel was great as usual with a wonderful cream sauce. We got Apfel Strudel for dessert, Larry and ...

... A deep clean was long overdue and having the doors and windows open and drawers cleaned out, and the dust wiped away is so refreshing!

It's all part of the departure preparations since it's so much easier to pack and leave when things are decluttered and organized - and much nicer to come back to! So cleaning first, then creating an ongoing list of things to remember to pack (adaptor kit, vouchers and itinerary, ...
