Two days and three nights in Montreal - saw the Old Port and the Pointe a Calliere Museum and parts of the old town on the first day and the Biodome and more of the city on the second.

... br> Despite our vow not to race away from the track on Sunday once we were retired, we decided to eschew the post race on track activities in favour of beating the large crowd out of town so that we could spend the evening with our Toronto friends Marilyn and Paul, who are now our Ottawa friends. ... worried about it, as I had a 3 hour layover so a few minutes delay here just meant a shorter wait in Vancouver. Still, while flights out of Ottawa and Toronto were being cancelled left right and center, it was pleasant being on time for once.

Beautiful old buildings, cobble stone streets, magnificent churches, wonderful cafe district and lots of souvenir shops. We took our time wandering through the district as it was also about 35C! Shop hopping was an option as it was nice to get into the air conditioning! We had some lunch then made our way down to the waterfront park.
