... Auckland!

It was cool to see the Bar Me guys again and had loads to talk about, we had a good old fish and chips but instead of cod had some snapper....sooo much tastier than cod. but still not real fish and chips! We were pretty shattered so had a bti of a lye in which was much needed and then headed off to the zoo. You'd think once you've seen 1 zoo you have seen them all but not the case, see some weird and wacky animals which kept us amused for the afternoon ...
Hamilton,, North Island, New Zealand jammie_traveler... that was almost logical but definitely missed the mark. Items were grouped together in a seemingly random fashion with dog food opposite soap and nappies next to toilet bleachâ¦naturally.

The next day was far more relaxed and I kept my feet firmly on the ground. Just to give you an idea of how cold it is, I had to sleep with 4 layers of clothing and 3 pairs of socks (in JUNE ï ). We went to the Hamilton Gardens which is a ...
Hamilton, North Island, New Zealand apoc100... They get the markings depending on their status in the tribe. Women have facial markings as well but only on their chins and around their lips. Their tattoos represent the owl because they are the ones the watch over the family and the children. Next we had the hangi, or the ground cooked meal. It was almost like a turkey dinner with all the trimmings except that it is almost all cooked in a hole in the ground. It was one of the best ...
Raglan, North Island, New Zealand sarahandwill... pretty good (it was the first time the younger guy had ever tried baking anything) and they couldn't have been nicer. They asked where we were headed next. When we said we were about to drive south to Tangariro National Park, the older of the two chuckled, shared a look with his friend, and said, "There's a state prison down there that we're both familiar with." New Zealand: Where even the felons are nice!
Raglan, North Island, New Zealand intrepidfred... extend to 90 mins). When I compared this with SPRU, I got told about health and safety and union rules - hummmmm......And I had to leave at 5pm, otherwise I might have been locked in. This is nowhere near the frantic pace of Queensland two years ago, but there again it's still examinations time here so maybe that's one of the reasons it's quiet. I've just been watching Sky news. Lewis Hamilton won the F1 Grand Prix and the ...
Hamilton, North Island, New Zealand hilarya... are constantly percussing her back (cupping your hands and firmly patting her back to get the fluid to loosen in her lungs) and suctioning out fluid. Her body has - for lack of a 'nicer' word - deformed in such a way that her spine is completely curved away from the rest of her body, giving her a hunched back and her ribs push through between her breasts. It hurts her to sit up for long periods of time even though that makes it easier for her to breathe ...
Hamilton, New Zealand karsenault... rooms specified for mothers so that if your child is crying you can quickly usher yourself out of the pew and into the glass room so as to not disturb anyone. There is ritual and things you can and cannot do. There are words you say because it's expected and when you aren't saying those words, you aren't saying anything. You do not talk to your neighbour unless it's an emergency and even then you whisper as quietly as possible. You do not rustle your dress. You do not do ...
Hamilton, New Zealand karsenault... It was amazing when we got there though, it looked like someone had put up fairy lights in the ceiling, although once you get told the life cycle of what are infact maggots burning their **** to produce the light, everything gets considerably less romantic! We then black water rafted (so called because it is dark) back down stream, past the entrance, and onwards, floating along with the **** burning maggots above....magical ...
Otorohanga, North Island, New Zealand liv.ltd... Keen surfer Andrew, was in his element and he thinks he will come back to live here when he gets a New Zealand visa. The atmosphere is vibrant enough not to be too boring and it really lends itself to the surfing way of life. On the night we hit the bar and met a crazy American woman and her Kiwi husband and by the end of the conversation we were all invited to sleep at their place. A bit strange, we ...
Raglan, New Zealand hudsondino... to the point where I'm spending two hours just to check my email and Facebook. It's ridiculous. I'll be glad to have this one extra thing done. It's been a huge project and I would just like it to be finished! And it will be, before the end of the week. So that's really good. Well if I kept writing much more I would just be filling up space. There is simply not that much to say. So for now I will say goodnight, and with luck will write again from Raglan. Cheers!
