... went back at the Easter weekend so its now getting dark just after 6 which will make it harder to get into the water after work.

Waikato University has a heritage in the local Maori community, and retaining Maori culture is really important. There is a Marai (meeting place) on campus and the students (and staff) have a powri (official welcome). The kids talked about their powri in their earlier blogs when starting school. The lack of surfers, other than beginners, should have been a clue! We’ve since had 5-6 days of really fun sessions in 2-4 foot swell. Most days the sea breeze is strong by midday so its means getting out early, but a couple days we’ve had off shores all day. Ollie has mastered how to roll his board and is ...

Cycling with Aunty

... had a lovely meal of eggs Benedict and home made muffins which were excellent and the coffee was excellent too. A good start.

We then popped down the road to Aunty Ruth's who took us to the new Velodrome (opened by the young royals on their recent trip), where there is an excellent set of cycle tracks for youngsters. We grabbed two bikes (sadly no training wheels so Emma had to go for two wheels) and hit the track. Sarah quickly got back into her stride ...
