We decided to not have a big driving day as Craig had a very sore neck. Dave and
Christina headed off to Albi and we headed for Villafranche de Rouergue where there was a big Thursday market. A larger town again with a square with ancient arcades around its sides which lent itself well to a market. Many stallholders who had been at the larger Saint Anton Val Noble market although this one was ...

... night next to a usually busy road. Some rain en route today but OK now. It was a great drive down into Millau and we saw some eagles flying, below us at first, they are always fantastic to see. A great night's sleep despite heavy rain for an hour or so. Easy to walk into town from here and lovely views. Will come ...

We headed south through the hills to Avignon. What a great city and region. Who would have ...

... day put us off going higher into the Cantal region of the Massive Central.
What a good decision. First off, the road and the ride were beautiful, through rolling green farmland, both pastoral and crop. Verdant green hills and this amazing deep red heavy soil. Have succeeded in scrubbing of the sides of the tyres and are really enjoying ourselves, pushing along without going silly. Early in the afternoon, but after lunch stop, we caught up with a 650 ...

Quite a night! Either the birds were wearing hob nailed boots or the squirrels were wearing skates. Something was making a lot of banging on the roof in the night. You hear sound much more than in a house because a) the roof is closer and b) the roof is thinner.

But come the morning, we moved off early because we had about 150 miles scheduled. Along the way, Monty decided to play ...
