Getting antsy now - one more day before we embark!

... REI. Got some really nice jackets and a few other items.

We weren't able to catch the Germany vs. France match and by all accounts it was the most exciting of the cup so far. Fortunately friends were watching and kept us up to date. We did make it to the hotel in time to see the US beat China for a spot in the semi final.

... was brought to our table on big skewers, time and time again. We ate until we couldn’t eat anymore and stumbled out into the humid air, walking off our meal along Copacabana Beach.

Ipanema is about 1 mile from where our rooms were. We got to the party a bit late, Icaro was there to meet us and introduce us to all of his friends. There seemed to be a number of young professional here, the place was nice and only a block or so to the beach. The Brazilians all spoke ...
