I awoke to a beautiful day in Chamonix.
I was sad it was my last day in the Alps, but I was anxious to move
on to Annecy, where Sandy and I had visited about 4 years ago. I
checked out and loaded the car, took a few more pics since it was
such a clear day and headed off to Annecy, about an hour …
... it, I didn't know I was there until a waiter at the restaurant next door told me so (there were no signs)! The entrance was a brown door in between two restaurants. ... amazing, perhaps more than 200 stalls throughout the long street. There is the old town reaching down to the lakeside and surrounding the two rivers which merge around the Palais de l'Isle. The lake is surrounded by the Aips and it's absolutely magical beautiful and about 40 km from the Swiss border. It is a perfect spot for romantic getaway, or family vacation.
I would recommend Annecy to anyone who is headed toward the Alps !!!
