We spent the day hiking in Arches National Park. The weather was perfect, about 75 degrees all day. This is a really great desert park (thank God that there are very few trees) and the arches are spectacular. After walking and climbing so much, my legs are killing me. You can climb all over these rock and formations. It is real hands on. Tomorrow, we do Canyonlands National Park. I know that no one will believe me, but one day is all that you need to see this size of park. There are a lot of ...

Canyonlands National Park

Today was Canyonlands National Park day and we had a great time. I rate Canyonlands as one of the very best National Parks. I think that it is much more fun than the Grand Canyon. Trust me go here first. Why? Because it really puts you close to natural features. It is exciting but very dangerous. You are able to walk right up to and off of the edge of every one of the canyons. There are no rails to prevent you from going over the edge to about a 5000 foot fall. Take a look at the photos. It w...

Big Rooms!

from A TripAdvisor Member
The best hotel we stayed in on our road trip. We stayed for 2 nights. Great rooms - huge - lovely breakfast by the poolside. Good location near in the town - near a restaurants and bars. Highly recommended and apparently better value for money than the other Best Western in Moab!

Good value base for Canyonlands and Arches

from Cuchulain
We used this as a base for tours of Canyonlands and Arches National Parks and a Colorado river rafting trip. On the basis that we were out pretty much all day, we did not see the point in staying more expensive hotels (eg Red Cliffs or Sorrel River resorts). There are also big advantages in being located in Moab town if you are doing tours which start there - Red Cliffs and Sorrel River are 15+ miles north along a twisty river road. Best Western Canyonlands was well located and suited for our purposes - good value, clean, up-to-date rooms, with free WiFi and helpful staff.

Great Stay at a Reasonable Price

from hikerjs
The Best Western Canyonlands Inn is probably the best place to stay at the most reasonable cost in Moab. Moab is an adventure town and some of the chain motels are pretty rustic and noisy. The service is excellent, the staff friendly, and the continental breakfast is pretty darn good. Moreover, the place is nicely carpeted and the noise insulation from other rooms is quite good for a chain motel. Having traveled to Moab on three occasions and stayed at a number of hotels and checking others out, unless you are looking for a resort, I would DEFINITELY recommend the Canyonlands Inn.

Great location

Stayed at the BW Canyonlands on May 25. Great location in the middle of town. easy to walk to restaurants and shops. Big, clean room. Good breakfast. as info - no bikes allowed in the rooms

Unexpected Quality

from Oakmont
This motel had everything: A large room with a separate area for sofa and chairs, a wonderful continental breakfast in its own breakfast room, free newspaper, fitness room and laundry in basement, large bags of ice for picnic cooler, fresh-baked cookies in the afternoon, very WHITE and fluffy towels and plenty of them, very clean, reasonably priced. Only one deficiency -- not enough volume of water coming from the showerhead. Maybe the drought in the West had something to do with that. This place was great.

A great hotel with a friendly staff!

from TravelerCarolee
This is a clean and attractive hotel.

It offered all the usual Best Western amenities: a refrigerator, iron, ironing board, blow dryer, lots of TV channels, etc.; but also had a nice laundry room and workout room.

The pool and hot tub were attractive, but the pool did not get cleaned often enough, so there was always a lot of debris, mainly leaves from a nearby tree, floating around in it. It was enough to prevent me from swimming in it.

The hotel is centrally located in Moab, so there is great shopping and dining within a short walking distance. Pasta Jay's and The Slickrock Cafe are right nextdoor and have wonderful food.

The hotel also offers a great continental breakfast and delicious cookies in the afternoon.

What stands out the most about this hotel, however, is the staff. The women that work the front desk are very friendly and took the time to offer lots of good advice. I even saw them helping people find accommodations in other hotels when this hotel was full.

Good value

Stayed at BW Canyonlands in early September 2004. This was our second time there. Very clean, good continental breakfast, helpful staff, etc. Would definitely stay there again.

Comfortable, Convenient, Clean

from pequod
This is a very pleasant place to stay in Moab. Rooms were large, quiet, clean, light, comfortable but unexceptional. The comforters, pillows, etc. were in good shape, shower had good pressure, furnishings all worked, the pool was pleasant. This motel is centrally located within Moab, within easy walking distance of many restaurants (which you will appreciate since it is hot!), and also less than 10 minutes drive to Arches. We ate at the new Moab Brewery about 6 long blocks away (food, beer and atmosphere were great) but the more famous Eddie McStiffs is right across the street and very convenient. The complimentary breakfast is a good one...there were actually fruit and hard boiled eggs in addition to the normal cereal and toast. There aren't a lot of choices other than motels in Moab...BW Canyonlands was a good one and I would stay again.

Worth a visit

from SKIRLAUGH
Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a 10 night tour of Arizona and Utah. The hotel is very well situated in the middle of Moab and very convenient for all the shops, restaurants etc. The rooms are of a good size and well furnished. Pulbic areas are also well kept. Unfortunatley there is no restaurant within the hotel but a complimentary continental breakfast is served in the lobby which should be more than adequate for most people. Would definitley stay here again.

Nice Place

from A TripAdvisor Member
This hotel is centrally located and next to the most popular restaurants in town. The rooms are well furnished. However, they are not sound proof. Also, it is very difficult to dolly your luggage as there are many levels, separated by stair cases. I would stay there again.
