We pick up our Jucy campervan....home for the next 3 nights and many more! Everything looks pretty good so we load up and get driving up the Atherton Tablelands. The Tablelands are mainly farm land and produce lots of fruit and veg, which is sold at Rusty's market in Cairns Fridays - Sundays. It's also 1500m above sea level so much cooler than Cairns.
We head towards a town called Ravenshoe as we want to try out the hot springs nearby. ...

... ASAP as is was getting full too. We took the advice and got the last 2 spots together. Great spot with showers and toilets and a recreation area in the middle - this is where Wendy and Michael Jamieson set up around 4pm to entertain the crowds, sell CDs and collect some busking style dollars. They were excellent, often did gigs in pubs ...

... see the Barron hydro electricity station that powers over 36000 households. There is a waterfall and many rapids along the river. We saw a group of people preparing to go white water rafting. The Barron Falls is below the weir at Kuranda higher in the mountains.

With Cairns such a short distance away we have visited regularly. Having breakfast on the esplanade, shopping at the large centre including Myers, and lunch at the Marina.

Seriously, its still bloody raining!!!!! So we decide to do one last day trip on the road, the furthest north we'll go. We take our time this morning, finally getting on the road around 9:30am and since its quite a drive to Cape Trib & back, probably not the best day to be dragging our feet. ... bus the Germans behind us started asking everyone around them to explain a dirty joke Emma had told us earlier. The language barrier was their downfall because it was just too hilarious trying to explain it. Especially since the joke had been told over an hour before.
