... Eco forest by 8.30 ( couldnt wait to get oput of mossman ) very informative tour and interesting place ,, never seen a proper rainforest before and this is one of the best in the world , the drive along the coast road has some great views ,, the beaches are terrific ,, only trouble is no one goes on them due to the ozone and no one goes in the sea due to the poissonous jelly fish,, its all wasted on them really .
Cairns, Queensland, Australia kevsharon... and take in the Great Barrier Reef. Colin and I ventured further away from the platform where we observed many beautiful corals and tons of fishes. I felt like I was in a middle of a scene from the movie, Finding Nemo.

Eventually, I got tired and decided to retreat back to the platform. It was almost time to return back to the vessel anyway. However, Colin and a few others stuck it out until the very end. Even though the water ...

Cairns, Queensland, Australia noahfisher... closely and hear the happiness being unleashed when you open this can.
With marketing like that, it's no wonder Diet Coke is the first thing I want when I wake up in the morning!

My only problem with the flight was my surrounding seatmates. I seem to have a knack for landing seats that are in the near proximity to either screaming children (check) and/or someone with really bad body odor (check). My Bose ...
Cairns, Queensland, Australia trockieMonday we went on a tour of the sugar cane mill. There are hundreds of acres of sugar cane along the coast. The fact that they get so much rain throughout the year makes this an ideal environment to grow the cane. As a matter of fact, we were told that the Daintree rain forest gets 4000 mm (160 inches) of rain per year. The surrounding area gets 1600 mm. You will see the cane being dumped into the hopper where it begins it's journey through the mill process. They crush cane ...

Cairns, Queensland, Australia lorraine11... in and go for it or you'll be in the river! Big Alan smashed his head into the back of mine on one (fortunately the helmets are pretty good so no worries) and he flipped out a couple of times. He was about 6'4 and he pirrouetted out of the boat on one rotating on his shoulder on the boat, rolled his legs around in the air and into the water leaving everyone in the boat in stitches, I actually don't know the last time I laughed so hard! In the afternoon I ...
Cairns, Queensland, Australia rob78... falling asleep. And then we have relaxed pretty much all day - we had to move room which required some organising, but basically we've just read, swum in the lagoon, and chilled out. Micha and Emma hit the road, closely followed by us on our tour to Cape Tribulation. So that's about it for Cairns. So we miss you all and love to everybody at home and speak soon (sorry our blogs have been so infrequent - the wireless coverage in Oz is questionable) xxxxx
Cairns, Queensland, Australia miiajussi... when the rest of my family had visited the museum here some seven years ago. I spent some time in the museum learning about the history of the RFDS, which since 1928 has been providing medical care for Australians living in remote communities and far flung cattle stations – some of whom even today can be anywhere up to a ten hour drive from the nearest town and doctor – and then of course clambered around inside the retired plane ...
